What is the ECC: Knowledge Validation Exam

It is a thorough exam developed by industry experts and instructors that seeks to review the knowledge of applicant bicycle mechanics in order to certify or renew their certificates.

ECC versions:
The ECC has two versions:

The Main Version is aimed at bicycle mechanics interested in obtaining AIMPB certification without the need to have taken the corresponding courses. These mechanics with extensive experience and recognition in the sector will be able to access this two-phase exam: Theoretical Phase (online), it consists of 60 multiple-choice questions and must be passed with 80% correct answers. If you are not approved, you can request up to 3 new opportunities (each opportunity has an additional cost of USD/EURO 10). The approval of this first phase will give you the right to present the Practical Phase, which consists of 3 mechanical tests of 40 minutes each, to be carried out at the nearest Instruction Center approved by the AIMPB. If you are not approved, you can request up to 3 new opportunities (each opportunity has an additional cost of USD/EURO 40).
This exam has a cost of USD/EURO 200.

The second version is the Update Version it is mandatory and is aimed at those mechanics Certified by First Order Training Centers endorsed by the AIMPB who have been certified for more than two (2) years. and who wish to obtain their Certification with the AIMPB.
And for AIMPB certified mechanics who are going to renew their certification after two(2) years. This exam seeks to confirm that new technologies and advances in the industry have been present in the training, practices and/or work of these mechanics and therefore their knowledge is updated and relevant.
This exam is available only in theoretical form (online), consists of 40 multiple choice questions.

To present your ECC you must make your Application registration as a Certified Mechanic. The system will take your data and indicate the payment methods. Once you do it, you will receive an email with the link to complete your ECC and all the relevant information.
